Michelle Morton is a Solicitor and Managing Partner of the law firm wilson/ryan/grose Lawyers. She has for over 25 years supported initiatives which support the advancement of women.
Michelle was an inaugural Board member of the JCU Townsville Fire Limited when it was incorporated in the 2011/2012 season and has been the Chair of the JCU Townsville Fire since December 2015. During Michelle’s tenure on the Board, the JCU Townsville Fire has increased its attendances, its commercial revenue and media exposure, developed substantial key partnerships including with all three tiers of Government and entered into key partnerships with James Cook University, the Australian Army and the North Queensland Cowboys. The JCU Townsville Fire have been WNBL champions for the 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2017/18 seasons.
In addition, Michelle is the Deputy Chair of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service, a Board member of the National Injury Insurance Scheme, Advisory Board member of the Salvation Army and a Board member of a not‑for‑profit organisation Community Gro.
Michelle is committed through the JCU Townsville Fire to providing positive, healthy, female role models to the community.
